Birthing Companion & Informed Consent Advocate services

Hi there mama

welcome

so, why have your birth photographed?

I believe birth matters. It matters the day you meet your baby, and in the months, and years to come. You get to relive that moment each time you tell the story, but what better way than to be able to fully visually see that story before you, again and again. You'll be able to revisit and share your experience with amazing high-quality pictures that capture all of those joyful, hard, sweet moments of birth. Because birth is an experience like no other, and photographing your birth matches those unforgettable feelings and moments before, during and after birth.

What to expect

When documenting the arrival of your baby, whether it's at home, a birthing center, or at a hospital, my focus is on the raw connections between partners and love-filled intimacy in the room. I give my all to be there for your birthing day and take pride in going above and beyond for my mama's and their bundle of joys. I will spend quality time connecting with you, learning your preferences and your birth plan. You and baby's comfort and well-being are my top priority. Which is why I also have expanded my services outside of just photography and capturing your birth story. I also provide services in being a birth companion doula, as well as an informed consent advocate for my mama's. On your birthing day, all you should be concerned about is that new soul coming into the world, not having to stress, worry, or be burdened with any other situations that may arise in that time.

WHat is a birthing companion doula?

A Birthing Companion is someone who the mother trusts, who provides mental, emotional, and physical support, and comfort to the mother during your childbirth. The Companion helps the mother to prepare for the baby's birth and is with the mother during labor. The Companion provides help to keep the mother calm, comfortable, and is someone who can speak and advocate for the mother's rights if she cannot.

What is an informed consent advocate?

I am an Informed Consent Advocate, which means I publicly speak out on the dangers, risks, and needlessness of immunizations/vaccines that doctors do not inform you of.

Risks include side effects such as, chronic ear infections, eczema, RSV, and food allergies, etc. More serious dangers include neurological damage resulting in brain swelling, seizures, and SIDS, etc,. This decision is solely up to the mother and father, but a decision can NOT be properly made without all knowledge given to the parent on the subject. That is my purpose! To inform. Provide ALL information to you. I have all manufacturer vaccine inserts, I can provide for you, to read through yourself, and answer any questions you may have. Along with information from CDC, NCBI, and several other FDA and .gov sites. I also provide a list of proper questions for you to ask your doctor, to bring to their attention, before making this decision.

This topic in no way interferes with my professional abilities to capture your birth. After our son almost died in my arms, after his immunizations, I dove headfirst looking for answers. God has turned our heart-stopping, devastating trauma into a passionate, redeeming testimony. He has placed it on my heart to publicly advocate to mothers about this critical information, so I boldly have taken a stand for baby's health and well-being, with a loving, non-judgmental heart.

Trauma informed

I operate from a place of understanding that nearly all people have experienced trauma in varying degrees, and that those experiences shape the people we become and how we show up in life. It is my goal to prevent re-traumatization by making sure that my clients feel seen, heard, respected, and validated in their experiences, feelings, wants, and needs.

Support for all outcomes

Whether intentional or unintentional, pregnancies don't always end the same. Full spectrum support, is provided for all outcomes, including live birth, vaginal, cesarean, miscarriage, and stillbirth.

A NOTE ABOUT CIRCUMCISION

It is my strong belief that bodily autonomy is perfect at birth, and for those looking to learn more information about circumcision, its dangers, risks, needlessness, etc., I am more than glad to help. To which, this again, in no way interferes with my professionalism to photograph your birth.

Why this matters to me

It seems only fair that if you will be inviting me into such a vulnerable space, that I should invite you into mine. I am a currently a mother of three, and my first birth was beyond traumatic, even before arriving at the hospital. I had plans to birth at a birthing center, but I unexpectedly went into preterm labor, due to stress and harassment at my, then, workplace. I was admitted in at 34 weeks, staying bedridden for a week in the hospital, until we made it to 35 weeks to deliver, and it only went downhill from there.

Being a first-time mother, clueless to the process, there was so much to take in. I had so many questions, that went unanswered, I had expectations, that were not met, even when mine were low to begin with. My own doctor failed me, at providing me a feeling of safety, and comfort. My emotions and voice were unheard. I felt pressured into things I did not want, I felt neglected, betrayed, and quite frankly like the enemy.

My second and third birth were transforming. I birthed at home, in a birthing pool, once with a midwife and once unassisted. I felt heard, safe, comfortable, and at peace. The midwife assisted to what I needed, she listened and sought out to achieve my birthing plan, that was best for me and baby, and most importantly, because of her love and care, I had no birthing trauma. Instead, I was empowered, I was transformed. THAT is what I want every mother to feel and experience, love, care, and peace.
